My wife and I took a day trip to Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, one of many state and national parks on the shore of Lake Erie in northwestern Ohio.
Migrating Warblers and other birds gather at the park over a couple of weeks in the spring to rest and feed in preparation for the long flight across Lake Erie to their summer breeding grounds in Canada.
But we also see other interesting things like Bald Eagles nesting, beavers swimming or gnawing on trees, lots of Great Egrets and other wading birds, turtles, snakes … a cornucopia of wildlife.
I made a second trip about a week later and will be posting those photos in the coming weeks.
